Tea cup

My mom is having a ladies day at her church and she is decorating her table with these teacups.
I got the diecut (a Brenda Walton) and BoBunny paper from The Scrapbooking Studio.
She is using these for party favors.

First we rolled the cup part.

Then we rolled and attached the base.

Then we added a silver trim to the bottom to cover the attachment. Curled the handle and glued that. The overhanging piece is supposed to be a "tea bag" but we are using them for place cards. I wrote each ladies name on the tea bag facing out. They turned out beautifully! Mom's plates are white with blue and yellow flowers. We are making a fairy garden for the centerpiece. Should be cute!

Spring Tag

Another tag I made in the car! I used Tim Holtz's Wallflowers paper. I stamped the birdhouse with a Tim Holtz stamp. I used a brad, lace, burlap and a sticker from Tim's Seasonal sticker set.

I also added a mushroom from Tim's Rub-0ns.

New York City

Just got back from NYC. We just happened to go to Liberty Island on June 6- V Day!
Beautiful ...

There was a ceremony with helicopters circling. When the ceremony was done, the helicopters dropped rose petals. If you look closely at the picture, you can  see tiny black dots. Those are the rose petals.
It was so moving! God Bless America!

Inspiration

Here is one of the tags I made in the car on one of my trips in May.
I used Tim Holtz "Laboratie" paper and French Industrial stickers. The globe is a Tim Holtz stamp. I also used a little burlap and seam binding.

I put Tim Holtz's Glossy Accents on the "engine" sticker.

I cut a small "note" from the paper and curled the edges.

I'm Working In My Garden Today!

WIth all this beautful weather (ie: NO heat!) I've got stuff done that I should have done 2 years ago! ")
It's actually looking good after I thought most of it was dead after the hard winter and spring!

Lovely Ladies

I got new Dyan Reavely Stamps at The Scrapbooking Studio. It's of these beautiful ladies. I went crazy stamping and coloring - with Distress Ink Markers- these lovelies after I got them. They were so much fun to do! I put some on tags and put them in the store! Stop by and see them!

May Design Team Cards- Doodlebug Paper

I saw a card similar to this in some old idea papers I had saved. I thought it was fun!
I cut the letters out with my slice. I used the light pink paper for all the letters except the I and U. I used the dark floral for the I U and the heart.

I used the adorable lamb embellishment to make this card!

May Design Team

#1

For May's Design Team Project at The Scrapbooking Studio was this cute Doodlebug Paper!
I immediately thought of my beautiful girl. These beautiful fun bright color and cute designs are my girl all the way! I wanted to challenge myself to use more of the papers to make designs instead of embellishments or "making" stuff (although I did use quite a few adorable embellishments!).

So I picked the large polka dot pattern and the stripe and small floral pattern to accent. I used the pink polka dot paper as my background and the yellow floral as a "neutral".

I went with straight edges and cuts and just kept layering. Then used a border punch on the stripe to give it some texture. I added popped up embellishments and a journal tag.

#2
I have lots of extra pictures of waterfalls from my trip to Hawaii several years ago. I thought it would be really pretty on these colors and I was right! I love how the green pops off the page!

I picked the background page and then used the pink polka dot to backdrop the picture. I knew the pink was a good accent for the green. I did the border punch on the bottom of the top strip and the top of the bottom edge. I added a journal tag, some embellishments and some Petaloo flowers. I used a newTim Holtz  twine in dark green, cut green triangles from two different green papers and made a flag. I then added matching decorative tape across the pink strip to jazz it up a little.

I love this Nest!

I saw this on The Graphics Fairy and it made me think of this tag I posted yesterday! Beautiful!

Plus I just found a beautiful  nest in my yard that fell out of a tree in a storm. Thank goodness there weren't any eggs in it! But the tiny nest was surprisingly heavy!

Robin Redbreast

Here's a little tag I whipped up in the car during a trip earlier in May. (I HATE to travel and do crafts so I won't lose my mind!:)
I used Tim Holtz's new Wallflowers Paper Stash I got at The Scrapbooking Studio.

I glued down a background paper - a textbook type page about nests. I  cut out and added the bird and eggs. I edged them with Walnut Distress Ink and popped the eggs up.

The eggs look so real!

Then I tore a piece of the faint gray/green background paper and made a corner. I finished with a wooden button and black sheer ribbon. I hung this in my classroom for the month of May! Simple but so cute!

wow.... I guess I've been busy!

May is such a ridiculous month!!

School is ending (I teach in my spare time!).... concerts, recitals, award ceremonies, grad parties.....

Just had a quick vacation with all 6 of us!! in New York City! Saw shows, interesting people, The MET and had fun!

AND a very long car ride!

I hate to ride in the car... The only way I can make it is to do crafts!! So I promise to upload a LOT of different things I've made in the last month! Soon!

the bad news..... all my roses and peonies bloomed in the 8 days I was gone and we had heavy rain so they are already "smashed" looking!!! I'm so sad :(
